The Hit Factory changed British pop music forever and even gave the Americans a run for their money with Billboard #1’s ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’, ‘Together Forever’ and ‘Venus’ and top 10 hits with ‘I Heard A Rumour, ‘The Locomotion’ and many more

This very special 3 disc CD collection, released to celebrate thirty years since the release of ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ by Rick Astley and Kylie’s ‘I Should Be So Lucky’, also includes #1 tracks produced by Pete Waterman such as Musical Youth’s Pass The Dutchie, Heartbeat by Steps and Westlife’s version of Seasons In The Sun. The Ultimate Collection showcases the legacy and phenomenal chart success of The Hit Factory which provided the soundtrack to a golden age of pop.

Pete already had hits such as the UK #1 Pass The Dutchie to his name when the hit-making partnership with Mike Stock and Matt Aitken formed in 1984 and scored their first number one chart-topper at the start of 1985 with Dead or Alive’s ‘You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)’.

Momentum continued to build with Bananarama’s ‘Venus’ topping the US charts in 1986 and taking the UK house sound to the masses with Mel and Kim who hit No.1 with ‘Respectable’ in 1987. From then on the hits came thick and fast with Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan and Rick Astley all scoring hits around the world.

In just over seven years, Stock Aitken Waterman had scored thirteen UK number ones and are now recognised as the most successful and prolific writing and production team in UK chart history. Since then Pete has had continued chart success with Steps and other musical projects.

This brand new collection, curated by Pete Waterman OBE himself, brings together all the hits and includes a special bonus CD of original extended mixes. Once called ‘The Sound of a Bright Young Britain’, The Hit Factory undoubtedly now stands as the soundtrack of a generation, with over 500 million sales worldwide.

‘The Hit Factory Ultimate Collection’ brings together the Hit Factory’s finest moments making this collection a must-have for all fans of great timeless pop music.
